The Orchid
It is a new day in the meadow
The shiny ray of sunshine kisses the closed petals
Basking in the warmth, the flower smiles
Slowly unfolding its petals, one by one
The meadow is good, the meadow is pure
At ease, the fragile orchid fully extends
Opening to the world, holding nothing back
Reaching to its neighbours, probing the connection
Hello, beautiful orchid, says the shadow
You are so pure and so kind
I love you with whole my heart
I will give you the world if you come with me.
Intrigued, the orchid approaches the shadow
Surprised, it looks at the gooey feel sneaking over its petals
The shadow says, do not worry, Orchid
I will protect you against the wrongs of the world.
Puzzled, the orchid trusts
Confused, the orchid lets the shadow pluck one of its petals
Mystified, the orchid gets a glance at the evil true face of the shadow
The orchid tries to flee
But the shadow holds it tight
Ensues a long tug of war
At each pull, the orchid loses a petal
At each push, the orchid drops sap
The orchid needs to find the warmth of the light in the depth of itself
The orchid needs to trust in the strength of self-love
The orchid needs to build a fence to separate from the shadow
Once this is done, the shadow will leave
The shadow will hunt for another prey
The nature of the shadow makes it steal the light of orchids
It can’t help it, it was born this way
